Tell us about yourself.

I’m a 19 year old model, I kind of stumbled into this industry, growing up I never intended or knew

my life would lead up to this point. I grew up in a very sheltered environment, you see I’m Jewish,

not just any Jew, I grew up in an Orthodox Jewish community, so for me being in a photoshoot

where I’m asked to wear tights and high heels was the furthest thing from my mind, specially as my

first editorial job. None the less I loved it, it was the first time I was asked to get out of my comfort

zone completely and thanks to that experience and the many more I’ve acquired during my time in

the industry I’ve understood fashion was about sending a message not about “looking pretty” like too

many tend to confuse.

How important is modeling education: Has he/she attended modeling courses?

Personally I have never been to modeling school, and I don’t think going to a specific modeling

school can further your career. Modeling isn't about learning choreographed poses, everyone has

a different way of expressing themselves. Modeling is an individual art form, every model is unique.

A model needs to study themselves, their unique features and how they look best and most

natural, even if that means standing in front of a mirror for hours.

On the other hand to me studying fashion rather than just studying modeling is very important.

Understanding where fashion comes from essential. Fashion is a social identity, a cultural phenomenon.

What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?

Once someone told me “You don’t choose to be in this industry, the industry chooses you.” We live

in an era where the industry is expanding and is more accepting of non standardized beauty. So

who am I to say who can and can't be a model.

What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology, and photography?

Advertisement is looking for “girl next door” type of beauty, In my country publicity is aspirational.

Advertising psychology is very tricky in my country, México, a lot of the times models don’t reflect

what the vast majority of México’s population looks like and this is the product of my country being

colonized all those years ago, it’s a very complex psychology, I wouldn't want to get into all that

Some people believe photographs steal a piece of your soul, in some sense I believe this is true,

but rather than stealing I thinks it’s capturing a piece of your soul, the person that you are at that

very moment.

How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to

clients’ requirements?

I communicate with people by trying to understand their story, viewers need to connect. I am very

patient, specially when it’s justified. I’m very opened to clients requirements as long as everything

is kept very professional.

Do you eat nutritiously?

I try to eat as healthy as I can.

How do you balance studies and modeling career?

I’m a full time model.

What is your dream role as a model?

I think everyone in this industry is aiming to have the opportunity to work for an influential and

prestigious brand.

Does you have any limitations? How do you define her boundaries when choosing to accept a

modeling request?

My only limitation is myself. The sky is the limit.

State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part-time? Any hours?

I’m a keen to travel, starting to travel is my next step as I work full-time.

What pieces of advice could you give to the parents reading this?

Trust your child. Support your child’s career path, because not following a dream is the worst thing

you could do.

Tell us your most memorable experience in modeling so far?

Walking down the runway, that feeling, the rush you feel inside, the cameras at the end of the

pathway. Being behind the lens of a camera, connecting and feeling the photographer's energy.

What was the most encouraging experience?

The first time I connected with a photographer, feeling the mood in the room and knowing that we

where all working towards the same objective. That’s the moment I was 100% sure I wanted this

industry for the long run.

What are the challenges in this industry?

It’s hard to trust yourself when you’re in and out of castings everyday when it’s people’s job

to judge you.

Any stories you want to tell our readers?

The first time I ever new the modeling world existed was when I was 15 years old. I took the metro

for the first time in my life, and shockingly I got lost, someone came up to me and asked if I had

ever considered becoming a model. I responded no and that I wasn’t interested. He kept insisting

and I propositioned if he could help me get back home I would go with him to a runway show and

consider modeling. Not the smartest move maybe, but thank god it was legit.
