"Anyone can take pictures or walk a runway, but a positive attitude and open mind is what makes people want to work with someone."

Model Citizen App is the platform where we recognise fashion models, photographers, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, creative directors, bloggers, stylists, and labels around the world. Every day, we feature an individual on Model Citizen Interviews. People get to know each of them - their hopes, challenges, aspirations and inspirations in life.

Tell us about yourself: Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in modelling as a career?

I love fashion, fitness, creativity, and being on camera. Combining all of those things together I realized at a young age that modeling was something that I wanted to do. It allows me to express myself while also making other people's visions come alive.

How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken?

I think that it is very important to receive modeling education because the industry has so many different avenues, and the goal is to be knowledgeable in every area possible. I was in a modeling club in college where we learned different runway techniques.

What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?

The key thing that I believe makes someone fit to be a model is their attitude and openness to take risk and step outside of the box. Anyone can take pictures or walk a runway, but a positive attitude and open mind is what makes people want to work with someone.

What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field?

My goals as a model are to be the model people want to represent their brand, whether it be through photographs or runway shows. Also, one day I want to be the role model for other people who are in the aspirant position that I am right now. I want those people to be able to see my story and get some kind of encouragement from it. I see myself progressing in this field by reaching out to different connections, keeping my integrity and positive attitude, and working hard to learn more about my craft and perfect it.

How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?

I communicate with people a lot through social media because it allows so many different opportunities because I can communicate with people from all over. Yes I am a very patient and friendly person. I'm really open to clients requirements as long as it doesn't cause for me to compromise my character.

Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym?

Yes I do eat nutritiously. I exercise at the gym at least 5 times a week.

What is your dream role as a model?

My dream role as a model is to be featured in a Calvin Klein spread as one of the main models.

Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request?

The only limitations and boundaries I have are when it comes to things that conflict with my morals as a person, but I am very open for the most part.

State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part time? Any hours?

Yes I would travel. And could work any time that there is a request.

What was your favourite experience so far?

My most memorable experience as a model is a show I did in Charlotte that was hosted by Cynthia Bailey. The first reason is because it was hosted by Cynthia Bailey and I love her as a model. My second reason is because I had to dye all of my hair blonde and it was a look I never thought that I would have.
