Model Citizen Media provides a platform to recognise fashion models, photographers, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, creative directors, bloggers, stylists, and labels around the world. Every day, we feature an individual on Model Citizen Interviews. People get to know each of them - their hopes, challenges, aspirations and inspirations in life.
Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far. Being a hairstylist gives me the chance to have an artistic job and take care of people in the same time. I love this industry because it's endless and creative. My career until now it's been pretty interesting. I've traveled a lot, worked in different countries and met a lot of interesting people. What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field? My goals are to learn more about the industry and maybe someday I will be a mentor myself :) How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? I communicate well, I explain a lot what has to be done to achieve a certain look, why they cannot have certain looks or if they can what comes with it in the future. If you had to do it over again, what would you change? Nothing. Who is your hero, and how have they helped you get to where you are? Oh! I have a lot of heroes that helped me on my journey and i'm still very grateful to all of them. How important are creative education courses? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful? Creative education courses are very important because they open the mind to a lot of beautiful things and make me dare more and push clients to go out of that routine trim/touchup. I took Vidal Sassoon Academy course cut & color in London. Also I'm going for Wella Master Colorist Expert course in L.A because I won the scholarship. I will do that this year. Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry? Yes. To be patient, listen as much as possible, observe a lot of experienced stylist, chose a few techniques from each.
